The automotive world has said goodbye to plenty of epic performance cars over the past decade but one that we feel still stings is the loss of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
Mitsubishi ended production of its rally-bred performance sedan in 2016 after building it through 10 different generations. Its absence has left the Subaru WRX without a traditional rival and was Mitsubishi to ever revive an older model, we’d hope it would be the Evo. What could such a revival look like?
To find out, designer Hycade has created his dream 11th-generation Lancer Evolution and the results are spectacular. The overall shape and design of the car is quite similar to the 10th-generation model, known as the Evo X. However, Hycade has made a car that is much more menacing than any previous iterations of the Evo, and were it ever produced, it would no doubt prove popular among enthusiasts.

The front of the car has a gaping wide black grille complemented by angular air intakes and a pronounced chin spoiler. A pair of sharp LED headlights also catch the eye, as do the large air vents on the hood.
When looking at the car from the side it’s impossible not to notice the flared front and rear wheel arches that give the car a bold stance on the road. There are also pronounced aerodynamic extensions on the skirts and a set of blacked-out wheels. The rear-end screams Evo thanks to the massive rear wing and the huge diffuser.
As stunning as this car is, it is very unlikely the Lancer Evo will be revived. Mitsubishi is currently focused on electrifying its lineup of crossovers and SUVs and has shown very little interest in producing any performance models.
