• Ram’s designers appear to have revised the front and rear fascias of the truck.
  • Both V8 gas and I6 turbodiesel engines are expected.
  • Various interior changes are also on the cards.

An updated Ram 2500 HD is in the works and is tipped to hit the market for the 2026 model year. What can prospective customers look forward to seeing with the new model?

First off, these recent spy shots from the trusty CarScoops photographers, show that some noticeable styling alterations are in the works. Heavy camouflage across the front fascia indicates there will be a new bumper design as well as revised headlights. While it’s too early to tell what the finished front fascia will look like, the differences should be obvious once the covers have been lifted.

This prototype appears to be a Ram 2500 HD Rebel, meaning it has a more off-road-focused setup. The grille looks to be more refined than the current model which has an odd mustache-shaped element. There’s also a new panel at the front end housing a radar sensor.

Elsewhere, Ram’s engineers have affixed covers over the taillights, indicating that they will also be replaced for the 2026 model year. The prototype’s wheels are identical to the existing pickup.

These photos were snapped from quite a distance meaning it is impossible to see what changes Ram has made to the interior. With that being said, the presence of some camouflage across the dashboard indicates that we should expect a few new additions there too.

While Ram has ditched the V8 from the 2025 1500 family, the 6.4-liter V8 of the larger 2500 HD will probably be retained for the 2026 model. This engine currently produces 410 hp and it’s coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Ram also sells it with a 6.7-liter turbodiesel inline-six that we suspect will be retained for 2026.
