• A unique example of the McLaren Senna crashed into a Lexus dealership in Los Angeles.
  • The driver was performing dangerous stunts for the camera before losing control of the expensive supercar.
  • Commenters suggest that this is the MSO-customised McLaren Senna was owned by a YouTuber.

Apparently, supercar ownership doesn’t automatically come with a complimentary course in responsible driving. Look no further than the recent incident in Los Angeles, where a driver managed to transform a bespoke green McLaren Senna into a modern art sculpture after some, ahem, some truly impressive displays of public road delinquency.

A video circulating on social media, including Reddit, shows a McLaren driver with questionable judgment. The clip features the bespoke beast coming to a screeching halt in the middle of the road, not for a scenic view, but for a 360-degree donut.

Smoke billows from the tires as the driver accelerates hard, a symphony captured by a chorus of smartphone cameras. But the grand finale arrives a few moments later, with the driver losing control and the McLaren finding its new home: the unforgiving concrete.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills, California. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as the sidewalk was empty at the time of the crash, and traffic was relatively light.

The Senna collided with the walls of a Lexus dealership, adjacent to a parked Toyota Camry. The front clamshell was completely destroyed, and it seems that the supercar suffered significant damage to the carbon fiber chassis and front suspension. While McLaren typically manages to repair models of this caliber, the bill will undoubtedly be hefty for the insurance company.

The identity of the driver and car owner has not been confirmed at this time. However, as pointed out by Motor1, the uploader of the video on the Reddit thread, user ‘slattdemon99’, suggested in the comments that the wrecked McLaren appears to belong to the well-known automotive figure Edmond Mondi, a YouTuber, entrepreneur, and racing driver.

Mondi recently acquired the bespoke Senna named “Project Kilo II,” which he showcased to his 307,000 followers on Instagram. This Senna stands out for several reasons. It features factory-fitted carbon wheels by MSO, an option costing $152,000. Additionally, it holds the distinction of being the first Senna example to arrive in the US and the only one with a combination of green exterior paint and a saddle interior. Other unique personalization touches include a gold exhaust shield and the Kiwi logo on the side sills.

The moniker “Project Kilo II” originates from the original owner’s previous custom creation, a bespoke 650 S named “Project Kilo I,” also crafted by the MSO department.

For what it’s worth, in 2022, that YouTuber gained notoriety after crashing a GMC Hummer EV, resulting in $78,000 worth of damage. Considering the significantly steeper price tag of a McLaren Senna – starting around $1 million before options and customizations that can easily push it past $1.3 million – whoever owns this wrecked machine is facing a financial cliff that makes the previous mishap look like a gentle slope.
