Alfa Romeo’s Mystery Concept Looks Like A Low-Slung Supercar

Alfa Romeos have always been evocative, despite their infamous Italian idiosyncrasies, but the latest ones have lacked some passion. The Giulia and Stelvio still look excellent, but they’re now more than a decade old, and the Tonale and Junior have largely failed to excite. Overall brand sales are down this year.

This is where a new high-performance model could come into play, taking its position as a halo car in the lineup and hopefully revitalizing interest for the brand. Last week, Alfa Romeo teased a new concept to debut at October’s Paris Motor Show, and now, another teaser gives us a good idea of what to expect.

The YouTube Short focuses on the car’s name, scrolling through a series of English and Italian names and phrases, indicating that the model’s name is hidden amongst them. Among the words that flash up on the screen are Italia, Visceral, DNA, Future, Battito Rosso, Battito Veloce, Leonardo, and Cuore Sportivo. What’s more exciting than the potential name of the new model is a brief image that appears to preview the car.

During the video, Alfa Romeo models including the Junior, Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale can be seen driving down a racetrack, before a low-slung model appears on screen. It’s possible this model is the limited-edition 33 Stradale, or it could be the new concept. Either way, it looks sleek and sexy, suggesting the Italian brand is working on something very exciting.

The concept may preview a new model from the Bottegafuoriserie sub-brand, which Stellantis established for Maserati and Alfa Romeo late last year, although this has not been confirmed. This new sub-brand will focus on custom-built Alfa Romeo and Maserati models.
