On the back of a disappointing 2025, when sales fell and losses increased, Aston Martin needs a model that will help it to get back on track. The new DBX GT could be that vehicle.
Last year, brand sales fell to 5,448 units, down from the 6,030 sold in 2024, and sales of the DBX dropped 9% to 1,717. The DBX GT differs from other versions, like the DBX S, in that it doesn’t expressly focus on performance, but rather boasts more luxury and refinement than the standard model. Crucially, Aston Martin should also be able to generate higher margins with it, and potentially sway people out of the Ferrari Purosangue and Lamborghini Urus.

Tweaks start with a bespoke double-vaned grille available with either a bright or dark finish and new outer air vents. It also boasts new two-piece metal side strakes, a body-colored front bumper, sills, and rear diffuser, and 22-inch forged wheels with a Satin Titanium diamond-turned finish. As standard, all-season tires will be fitted. Aston Martin has also ditched the curious stacked exhausts of the DBX S in favor of more traditional quad exhausts with a polished design.
A Very Special Cabin
As eye-catching as some of the exterior changes are, it’s in the cabin where the DBX GT really stands out. The front and rear seats are more supportive thanks to an additional 0.39-inch (10 mm) memory foam layer, and each front seat has 2,267 feet of thread and more than 3,200 perforation holes.
Positioned at the rear are two individual seats, rather than the bench seat used across the rest of the DBX range. There is still a third seat in the center, though it looks very cramped. Aston Martin has also announced bespoke monotone, duotone, and tritone color options for the DBX GT’s cabin. It’s also created custom stitching for it.
Further boosting the sense of luxury is an anodized metal drive mode controller, a standard panoramic glass roof, and more sound-deadening materials. Further boosting the SUV’s luxurious feel is semi-aniline leather and deep-pile floor mats.
Familiar Power
Although Aston Martin says the DBX GT is more about refinement than it is about performance, it uses the same 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 as the DBX S. That means it produces an identical 717 hp at 6,250 rpm and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque between 3,000 rpm and 5,250 rpm.
This engine works alongside a nine-speed automatic transmission to send power to all four wheels. While the big British SUV weighs in at a hefty 4,949 lbs (2,245 kg), it can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.1 seconds and a 193 mph (310 km/h) top speed. Aston Martin says it has also tweaked the SUV’s exhaust note and added a subtle GT mode to keep things nice and quiet. Shoppers who want the full V8 experience can enjoy it in the Sport and Sport+ modes.
Market-specific pricing details haven’t been announced, although Aston Martin says the first customer deliveries will start in the fourth quarter.
