- A Spider version of the Aston Martin Valhalla could be unveiled in November.

The Aston Martin Valhalla is already a very rare thing, capped at just 999 units worldwide, and delivers performance that slots it somewhere between the Lamborghini Revuelto and far more expensive hypercars, including the Ferrari F80 and McLaren W1. Now, an even more exclusive version is said to be under development.
Aston Martin is reportedly gearing up to release a Valhalla Spider as early as November and will likely build even fewer examples of it than the Coupe. It’ll be largely identical to the hardtop, except you’ll be able to enjoy the wind in your hair.

As the Valhalla is built around a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque, the Spider should be able to retain similar levels of strength and rigidity to the Coupe, though it may require additional strengthening.
The Supercar Blog understands it’ll use a removable targa top, rather than a folding hardtop or a folding soft top, which would add complexity and weight. The car also doesn’t have room to store either, so a targa top that owners take off and leave behind is the only viable option.
A Brutal Hybrid V8
No modifications are expected to be made to the Valhalla’s powertrain for the new Spider model. As such, it’ll continue to use a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 working alongside three electric motors, with two mounted up front and one positioned at the rear. Combined outputs should mimic the Coupe’s 1,064 hp and 810 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque.

Mated to the AMG-sourced engine will be an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, routing power through all four wheels. The regular model tips the scales at 3,649 lbs (1,655 kg), and while the Spider will likely be slightly heavier, it’s unlikely to weigh more than 3,747 lbs or 1,700 kg, because of the car’s carbon fiber construction.
