Dubai Police Adds Hybrid Lamborghini To Supercar Fleet
The Dubai Police fleet might already look like a high-profile collection of exotics, but it keeps getting updated with fresh metal. The latest to join the pack is the Lamborghini Temerario, following examples of the Urus, Huracan, Aventador, and Revuelto, which have already been dressed in the colors of Dubai. The handover of the electrified supercar is part of the collaboration between the local authorities and Lamborghini Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The exterior is covered by the signature white and green livery, featuring special emblems and Police lettering in English and Arabic. Despite producing a combined 907 hp (677 kW / 920 PS) and 900 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque from its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and three electric motors, this particular Temerario is not designed for highway pursuits. Instead, it will primarily operate under the Tourist Police Department, making appearances in high-density areas and major attractions across the emirate.
Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, explained that the luxury patrol fleet combines "an effective security presence with community and tourist engagement". He added that the police supercars "help people feel safe" while reinforcing their commitment "to being a police force that is close to the community". In other words, if you're in Dubai and spot the Italian supercar don't be afraid to ask for a selfie.
Not the only police-prepped Temerario
Surprisingly, this isn't the first Lamborghini Temerario to wear a police livery. Italy's Polizia di Stato has recently unveiled its own Temerario, serving as a follow-up to the police-prepped Gallardo and Huracan predecessors.
Unlike the Dubai unit's tourism focus, the Italian State Police supercar has a different role, making use of its high-performance credentials. The electrified baby Lambo is actually equipped for high-priority emergency missions, including transportation of organs across the country. Of course, the supercar is allowed to exceed the 130 km/h (81 mph) limit on the Italian Autostrada, piloted by trained drivers.
During the 22 years of collaboration between the Italian State Police and Lamborghini, the rapid-response police units have successfully transported over 200 organs, saving numerous lives in the process. Independently of their missions, which Lamborghini Temerario police car do you prefer — Italy's blue-and-white example or Dubai's white-and-green show car?
