For decades, the Rolls-Royce Phantom has been the go-to luxury sedan for those with near-limitless bank accounts, offering unmatched levels of craftsmanship and refinement. But if you're in the market for something a little different, this special 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 might be right up your alley.

This Maybach S 680 is a little more desirable than most. It was designed in partnership with NBA legend LeBron James and closely matches the one which he personally owns. It was crafted by the German brand's Manufaktur program, and it has a slew of custom touches. It might be the finest Maybach in the US, though the bold exterior and interior won't suit everyone's taste.

First is the color. The sedan is painted in a non-metallic Light Ivory shade, offered exclusively by the Manufaktur department. Mercedes also replaced the traditional V12 badges on the front fenders with LeBron's personal logo. The car also sports matching Light Ivory wheels.

LeBron James designed a bright blue interior for the Maybach

As dramatic as the exterior is, the interior of this S 680 is even more special. Most cabin surfaces are trimmed in Stormy Weather blue Nappa leather. This includes the front and rear seats, the door panels, most of the dashboard, and the transmission tunnel. This flamboyant blue leather has white contrast stitching and LeBron's logo on the headrest cushions. A small badge on the console also shows the coordinates for Akron, Ohio, which is LeBron's hometown.

Gooding Christie's is offering the car for auction at its Retromobile New York Auctions event through the LeBron James Family Foundation. All funds raised from the sale will benefit the foundation's I PROMISE program that helps students and their families in the Akron area.

"The chance to design my own customized Mercedes-Maybach was something I never even dreamed of as a young kid growing up in Akron," James said. "To now have the opportunity to uplift my community and the families we serve through this auction means everything to my Foundation as we continue to build an ecosystem of supports that allows them to live out their dreams as well."

A standard Mercedes-Maybach S 680 starts at $247,250 in the U.S., though this one will likely sell for more. The Rolls-Royce rival is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 with 621 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque.
