Jeremy Clarkson's latest project is equally interesting for automotive enthusiasts and farmers. Using sustainable materials grown on his own farm, the veteran TV presenter created a coachbuilt special based on the discontinued Jaguar F-Type, with the help of its original designer Ian Callum, who recently penned a reborn XJ220. What may be the first organic Jaguar was created for an upcoming show dubbed "Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson's Farm Special".

This is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on Amazon Prime and will air globally. As you may have guessed from the title, the materials used for the conversion were cultivated on Clarkson's 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm located in Oxfordshire, U.K. The donor vehicle is a pre-facelifted Jaguar F-Type with the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 380 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. The mechanicals of the RWD roadster were carried over, but its exterior and the interior went through a radical transformation.

Bespoke design and new materials

Visually, the model stands out thanks to a custom body kit with lightweight composite panels manufactured from flax. These were penned by Ian Callum, founder of Callum design studio and former design chief at Jaguar who was responsible for the original F-Type. Highlights include a redesigned front bumper with aerodynamic flaps and sculpted cutouts, and wide fender extensions on both axles. The one-off Jag rides on a new set of bronze alloy wheels with a star-shaped five-spoke pattern.

These are shod in high-profile tires, presumably improving ride comfort when driven around Clarkson's farm. The body appears to be finished in Tonga Green, featuring a custom tractor emblem and Flax-Type lettering on the tailgate. In a similar context, the exposed two-seater cabin rocks tan leather upholstery derived from Clarkson's livestock, carpets woven from farm-reared sheep's wool, and tweed inserts. A cool touch is the tractor logo embossed on the headrests.

Already won an award

While the special won't air on Prime until next year, Clarkson made a surprise appearance in Italy with his Flax-Type this past weekend. The coachbuilt roadster — that some might prefer over the new Jaguar Type 01 EV — made its first public outing at the Villa La Massa Excellence event in Tuscany. Clarkson appears to have won some kind of a trophy for his participation, probably in a concept category. YouTuber Varryx was present at the event and shot a brief montage revealing the one-off special before its official appearance on Amazon's streaming service.

Commenters on social media praised the spec of the British sports car although some disliked the wheels and others spotted fitment issues on the front bumper. We expect to learn more about the project with plenty of behind-the-scenes footage sometime in the coming months. It will be interesting to see whether Clarkson will share the total material cost for the conversion.
