Few, if any, supercar manufacturers have perfected the art of building high-priced, limited-edition models quite like Lamborghini. Over the past two decades, the Italian brand has released dozens of ultra-exclusive cars that are even more dramatic than the company's standard modes. The Reventon Roadster stands out as one of its most remarkable.

Unveiled in 2009, two years after the hardtop Reventon shocked the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Reventon Roadster was capped at just 15 units worldwide with prices starting at around $2.1 million. Most of these cars disappeared from public view the moment they were delivered to customers, and it's rare for one to hit the market. One is now up for auction in the U.S. where it's expected to fetch upwards of $3 million.

This Reventon Roadster, listed up for sale through Joopiter, was delivered new to a customer in Singapore and was stored for most of its life, only accumulating 29 miles (47 km) over the past 16 years. This is likely one of the lowest-mileage Reventon models in existence and now resides in Miami, Florida, looking for its next owner.

It's as close as you can get to a brand-new Reventon Roadster

Of all the wild 'few-offs' that Lamborghini is built, the Reventon has one of the most dramatic designs. Inspired by legendary fighter jets like the F-22, it launched with sharper angles and more aggressive lines than any Lamborghini that came before it. The Aventador, which debuted in 2011, hit the market with a similarly bold profile, but not even it could quite match the presence of the Reventon.

As the car was based on the Murcielago, it uses Lamborghini's legendary naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with 661 hp and coupled to a six-speed e-gear transmission. The listing notes it still has the original drive belt and tires from 2009. What's more, a scan of the computer has revealed that the engine has sat at below 1,400 rpm for 95% of the time. This is basically the closest you can get to a brand-new Reventon and in preparation for sale, it was fitted with a new battery, and the fuel system was completely flushed. However, there's no guarantee the car won't need some other work if the next owner wants to actually drive it.
