Mopar is celebrating its 90th anniversary in the only way it knows how: with a limited-edition Dodge Charger. Debuting at this weekend's Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals before heading to SEMA next week, the Mopar '27 Dodge Charger adds some further appeal to the six-cylinder model. It also adds some spice to the Charger lineup, which was battered by the release of the all-electric Daytona a few years ago. It's not quite a Hellcat, but it's getting close.

The Mopar '27 package adds $10,995 to the Charger's MSRP, and it will be limited to just 270 units. Of these, 90 will be offered in Bludicrous, 90 in Diamond Black, and another 90 in White Knuckle. The U.S. will receive 243 of the planned units, while Canada will receive just 27. The package includes a carbon fiber front splitter, a carbon fiber hood with a scoop, a cold-air intake, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler, all sourced from Direct Connection. Dodge has also equipped the special Charger with distinctive graphics, a special interior badge, and a serialized plaque under the hood.

The kit will be available for both the two-door Charger R/T and Scat Pack models, but it doesn't boost performance. That means the R/T still rocks the familiar twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 420 horsepower, allowing it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds. The Scat Back boosts grunt to 550 hp thanks to larger 54mm Garrett turbochargers, fully forged internals, and a charge air cooler. The extra power slashes the 0-60 mph time to 3.9 seconds. Scat Pack models ordered with the Mopar '27 package will come standard with leather performance seats, the Carbon and Suede Package, Blacktop Package, and 20-inch wheels.

Mopar goes deep into performance upgrades

Mopar is also eager to show that the Charger's available upgrades don't end with this new package. The display car heading to SEMA will also include a high-performance exhaust available directly from Dodge performance dealerships, unique 21-inch Brass Monkey wheels, and new springs.

Those familiar with Mopar's history will know this is far from the first limited-edition package it's offered. Since 2010, Mopar has launched 15 others like this, including the Mopar '13 Dodge Dart, the Mopar '18 Dodge Durango, and most recently, the Mopar '25 Ram 1500 RHO. The Mopar '27 marks the fourth time the Charger has received such a package.

"The Mopar '27 Dodge Charger showcases our passion for personalization and performance while celebrating nine decades of helping enthusiasts make their vehicles uniquely their own," senior vice president of Stellantis parts and services in North America, Darren Bradshaw said. "Our latest special-edition, limited-build package delivers exclusive styling, premium materials and signature Mopar touches that celebrate the passion, performance and personalization enthusiasts have come to expect from Mopar."

Mopar will display several other models at SEMA. These will include a special Direction Connection Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, a Rumble Bee SRT, two Jeep Wrangler concepts, the Jeep Recon Overwatch concept, and a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona Tribute with a Hellcrate 6.2-liter supercharged V8.
