Acura Begins Selling 3,000 NSX Restoration Parts In The United States

Honda wants to keep as many original NSXs on U.S. roads as possible and has just begun selling more than 3,000 reproduction parts to owners nationwide through the Honda Heritage Parts program. Honda announced the program earlier this year, and it first launched in Japan.

Honda's Heritage Parts program includes two categories. The first is Genuine Honda Reproduction Parts, where parts are reproduced using the same methods and materials as the originals, as is the case with the NSX parts. The second is Honda Compatible Parts, which manufactures newly developed parts to replace original ones. The 1991-2005 NSX is the first model Honda is focusing on with its new parts division, and it's expected to grow to include other models in the future.

American owners can purchase reproduced parts from Acura dealerships nationwide and through the Honda DreamShop. A dizzying array of parts is available. So, whether you're completely restoring an NSX in your garage or simply need to service it and replace some aging parts, the Japanese car manufacturer has you covered.

The parts available depend on the specific NSX year, model, trim, and transmission type. For a 1994 NSX with a four-speed automatic transmission, available engine parts include fuel injectors, a new throttle body, exhaust manifold components, an oil cooler, an alternator, clamps, cylinder head covers, camshafts, timing belts, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

The same goes for the automatic and manual transmissions the NSX was sold with. New transmission cases are available, as are gear shafts, bolts, shift forks, and shift levers. Honda also offers reproduced exhaust parts, radiators, electrical connectors, headlights, taillights, and interior gauges. You can also order reproduced wheels, brakes, and shock absorbers. An abundance of interior trimmings and parts can also be ordered online or through an Acura dealership. Chipped your NSX's original windshield? Honda now sells a genuine replacement. Owners can also order easy service items like spark plugs, wiper blades, fuel pumps, and genuine oil filters.

It's not just reproduced and new parts that will keep classic NSXs on the roads for years to come. Earlier this year, the Japanese carmaker launched the Honda Restoration Service. It is currently only available in Japan for JDM first-generation NSX models and offers full restoration packages for owners, using the reproduced parts.
