A 28-year old man has set a new Guinness World Record for fastest skateboard speed from a standing position.
Mischo Erban beat the previous record achieved by Douglas da Silva in Brazil, on October 20, 2007, by 16.9 km/h or 10.5 mph reaching a top speed of 129.94 km/h or 80.76 mph on a road in Quebec, Canada, with a very steep 18-degree incline.
"When we get down to racing, I really do consider myself a human Formula One car," said the Czechoslovakia born skateboarder, according to the Vancouver Sun. "The only thing is we don’t have a motor."
Head past the break for the video recording from Erban's record-breaking run.

For the record, this is a longboard, not really close at all to a traditional skateboard. They are designed for this kind of downhill riding, I know because I do it.
Not a very good video since it doesn't show the rider or the board.
Here's his previous run and record
Mischo Erban 80.83 mph (130.08 kph)

You are so full of shit.
Nice video. Thanks for posting. I don't know anything about skateboarding but that was cool.
you aren't breaking any speed records with a normal skateboard. you would get speed wobbles.
longboard is only way to stay stable
No breaks, no steering wheel, no engine, just you, your board and 4 urethane wheels, it's a blast.
