Mercedes-Benz Charts the History of the G-Class SUV

|

The oldest model in Mercedes-Benz's passenger lineup, the 33 year-old G-Class, is the point of focus of a new video from the brand with the star.

The clip takes us for a short ride back in history and how the G-Class came to be, while Volker Leutz, Mercedes-Benz Designer, and Michael Bock, head of Mercedes-Benz Classic, chip in and talk about the challenges that arose during the recent facelift of the SUV.

The rugged off-road model is currently produced in three-door Convertible and five-door wagon body styles.

Engine options start from a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel generating 208hp (211PS) and go all the way up to a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 with 603hp (612PS) that powers the G65 AMG, and which happens to be the most expensive model in Mercedes-Benz's lineup priced at €264,180 (about US$325,000) in Germany.
