Besides an assortment of tuning accessories and components, racing models and quite possibly, a selection of never-before seen concept and special edition production models, Subaru and its STI division will also debut a new limited edition mechanical watch at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon in mid-January.

The 2013 edition of the STI-branded timepiece will be produced in a limited run of 300 units, 30 of which will be offered during the show along with a special band adjustment tool.

STI said that in Japan, prices are set at 59,325 Yen (about US$710 or €542 at the current exchange rates).

The mechanical watch relies on the operation of gears to measure time, as opposed to quartz timepieces that function electronically.

It tells the time for several international cities plus the Nürburgring, while also featuring a power-reserve counter shaped like a fuel gauge (at the 6 o’ clock position) and a window on both sides showing the gears that are shaped like a boxer engine piston.
