If there’s one small station wagon we could see wearing a ‘hot hatch’ badge, it is the new Renault Clio Estate. Whether the French carmaker would ever consider placing its RS logo on it, is a different story.

For now, the sportiest version of the Clio Estate that European customers can get is the GT 120 EDC that was displayed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. It makes do with a 118HP (120PS) 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired to Renault’s new dual-clutch six-speed transmission with steering column mounted paddle shifts that turns the front wheels.

If you’d like to fantasize what a future Clio Estate RS 200 EDC would look like, French designer Khalil Bouguerra from Virtuel-Car has come up with these two renderings that combine the body of the station wagon with the sportive details of the Clio RS 200 EDC hatchback such as the wider wheels and beefier alloys, and aero components.

Naturally, the estate would borrow the hatchback’s newly developed 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 197hp (200PS) at 6,000 rpm and peak torque at 240Nm (+25Nm) delivered from 1,750 rpm.
