While not the most impressive car in its class to drive, with dull steering and sluggish engines, the Hyundai i20 has plenty of positive traits to still call itself desirable.

Firstly, it’s one of if not the biggest in its class inside, and it’s also supposed to be very comfortable, since this was one of the key points when it was launched.

It also looks as good as anything Europe and Japan can throw at it, and while the Which? reviewer criticizes the interior design, in the review posted below, we say it’s no worse than that of the new Skoda Fabia.

However, it’s the engines that let the side down most. It lacks the modern turbo petrol options, and while the 1.1-liter diesel may have good claimed economy figures, we’re wary you’ll be able to get anywhere near them in real life.

Oh, and the touchscreen is optional on most versions, whereas most rivals offer it lower in the range or as standard – it does come with plenty of other toys, though, and you can even get a desirable heated steering wheel too.
