Aside from the issue with the idea of a four-cylinder Ford Mustang, in practice it’s actually a working concept. This review is by no means the first one to praise the new Mustang EcoBoost, and it does strengthen the idea that it’s actually a very good proposition.

The AutoGuide reviewer goes one step further saying he thinks there’s no need for the V6 anymore, other than to reassure more traditionalist buyers. The turbo 2.3 has more power and torque and is generally more usable and efficient.

Yes, there’s still the problem of engine noise, but with the fake stuff being pumped into the cabin, most drivers will find it an enjoyable experience. If you nitpick, then yes, the Mustang EcoBoost is still not as desirable as the others, but desirability is very subjective and nowhere is that more true than here.
