The McLaren Formula 1 team and watchmaker Tag Heuer celebrate its 30 years of partnership with a new short film titled “Don’t Crack Under Pressure– A Legend Returns”. The legend doing the returning is none other than the rebirth of another partnership: Honda McLaren.

Considering how much the McLaren Honda team has struggled during the 2015 Formula 1 season, sometimes we forget just how powerful and dominant this constructor and engine partnership once was. In 1988, the McLaren Honda team was responsible for winning 15 out of 16 races in the whole season, setting a record 94% win ratio that still stands to this day.

The car responsible for this record was the McLaren MP4/4 and the man that would take the 1988 Driver’s Championship was the late Ayrton Senna. In the new short film, current McLaren driver Fernando Alonso pilots Senna’s McLaren alongside Jenson Button in the 2015 McLaren Honda MP4-30. It’s surreal to see the two vastly different Formula 1 cars drive side by side and it also highlights the contribution that the McLaren team and Honda have given to the sport.

The short film includes a voice-over narration from Ayrton Senna himself. Be sure to watch the video below!
