Watching footage of this good-looking GS F running around Fuji Speedway can be very entertaining.

Let’s start off by not taking anything away from the GS F. It’s reasonably light for a car its size at 1,829 kg (4,034 lbs) and it’s got 467 HP and 527 Nm (389 lb-ft). So far, that’s nothing to laugh at.

It will also go from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in about 4.4 seconds – but Lexus have been promoting this information at their own peril. Take the BMW M5 for example. It hits 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds, and some have been clocked to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds.

So yes, rivals such as the M5, or the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S, are a heck of a lot quicker, not to mention the fact that they pull their weight around more aggressively. The GS F’s 527 Nm of torque pales compared to the E63 AMG S’ 800 Nm. The M5 overshadows the Lexus as well in this department.

What we do like about this video is that we can hear how nicely its V8 engine roars, while taking on the challenging Fuji Speedway. And it is a naturally aspirated V8, which might almost convince some of us to ditch the M5 or the E63 in favor of the GS F. Almost.

We also get to see it next to a RC F Coupe and the famous LFA supercar – always a sight for sore eyes.
