Mercedes-Benz has announced that a number of 2015 C-Class models are being recalled due to an error with the electric power steering control unit software.

The cars affected by the recall are the C300 and C400 4Matic produced between January 27, 2014 and December 1, 2014, totaling 28,452 vehicles.

Due to the aforementioned issue with the power steering, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)says that the affected vehicles may suffer a loss of electric power steering. Obviously, the lack of power steering makes a car harder to maneuver, therefore increasing the risk of a crash.

To fix the problem, Mercedes-Benz will simply have to update the power steering software free of charge.
