Volvo has shown the new face of the updated V40 and V40 Cross Country for the 2017MY, following an announcement made last week.

Equipped with Thor’s Hammer headlights, new grille mesh, updated Volvo Iron Mark, eight new wheels designs across the V40, R-Design and V40 Cross Country range, they also come with two completely new colors, Amazon Blue and Denim Blue, and three shades already used by other cars in the manufacturer’s portfolio: Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue and Luminous Sand.

Inside, there is a new City Weave upholstery like the one fitted in the Concept Estate, new Charcoal/Blond steering wheel option, several interior panel trims such as Milled Aluminum, Black Grid Aluminum and Stealth Aluminum, accent trim colors in the door inserts, new tread plates on the R-Design and Inscription versions, and updated key fob with new Volvo logo.

These add to the likes of the Volvo On Call smartphone app that allows users to remotely access some of the in-car features, which is also compatible with Apple Watch/Android Wear. The Microsoft Band 2 connectivity enables voice-control for certain features when using Windows 10.

Volvo will also introduce Flic button compatibility, which allows the driver to program a single physical “smart button” to perform several tasks, such as lock the car, start/stop pre-heating or be used as a shortcut to Volvo On Call.

The CO2 emissions on the popular D2 manual powertrain were reduced to 89g/km and this is the only tech info Volvo has released prior to their premiere in Geneva next week.
