This is Renault’s new full-size SUV captured on camera while undergoing winter testing in Sweden.

Expected to be named the Maxthon, it will sit above the Kadjar and marketed as more premium offering in the segment.

The Maxthon shares its platform with the Nissan X-Trail seven-seater, but will be offered with seating for five, at least initially. Renault is aiming its new crossover at the Chinese market, where it will replace the aging Koleos; although it has yet to be confirmed, it might eventually be offered in Europe as well.

The styling is heavily influenced by the Megane, with the same L-shaped DRLs at the front and the rest of the body designed along the lines of the Kadjar. The Maxthon is expected to make its global debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April.
