Owning a Willys Jeep makes you an enthusiast, but using one makes you a true adventurer.

Meet Larry Shank, owner of this 1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B and its 1947 teardrop trailer as featured on the latest Petrolicious video. Both of them were bought by his dad back in the day, using them to take his family for exploring the country while on vacation.

The adventure began when we left the driveway,” says Larry. “And that’s what was neat about the Jeep and the teardrop; you became part of the country from day one.”

Shank learned from his dad how to drive and work on this beautiful Jeep, allowing them to get closer and create a unique bond over this tough off-roader.

“You could not go the places he wanted to go unless you had this. There were dirt roads, sandy roads, where a normal car would not make it,” Shank says. “The Jeep could get him every place he wanted to go.”

Even the numerous period modifications on it makes it even cooler. Combine this with the fact that this Willys Jeep still takes Shank out for new adventures and perhaps you’ll find the inspiration you needed.
