Having presented the latest family member, the Model 3, Tesla Motors is now believed to temporarily shift focus on its flagship, the Model S.

Being around since 2012, the electric sedan will receive a minor refresh, according to CNET. Quoting company insiders, the report says the updated ‘S’ will get a new front fascia, LED headlights and a revised color palette, while inside, it will gain additional storage compartments and the same seats from the Model X,
meaning that ventilation will become an option.

The SUV will lend its “Bioweapon Defense Mode” air filtration system too, according
to TheVerge.

Underneath the skin, the electric sedan is believed to get a 100 kWh battery option, which will sit at the top of the range, above the current largest battery available, the 90 kWh option.

Rumor has it that Tesla will introduce the revised Model S as early as this week, with an updated price list, which will make it slightly more expensive over the current iteration that starts from $61,900 in the US, after the $7,500 federal tax rebate.

As usual, the brand’s representatives declined to comment on the rumors, but did admit that “Tesla is constantly innovating adding new features to our vehicles to perpetually improve Tesla vehicles for our existing and future customers.
