Deliveries of the Ferrari F12tdf have commenced in the United States, more than six months after the supercar arrived to its first European customers.
The first example to land on this side of the Atlantic has been imported by FerrariBeverlyHills and is in the possession of the Californian auto customizing company AutoTalent, wearing a Bianco Fuji paint and riding on 10-spoke golden wheels that cover grey-finished calipers.
Ferrari sold all 799 units of the supercar that pays tribute to the legendary Tour de France race, run between 1899 and 1986, even before it broke cover last October. The exotic carried a price tag of almost $500,000, but it’s expected to sell for double that on the used car market.
Competing against the likes of the Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce (SV), the Prancing Horse’s front-engine and rear-wheel drive machine sports an upgraded version of the 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine used on the F12 Berlinetta, which can also be found, in different outputs, on the FF/GTC4Lusso and on the LaFerrari hybrid.
On the F12tdf, the powertrain is rated at 770 HP (780 PS), 40 HP more than the regular F12 Berlinetta, allowing it to go from naught to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and all the way up to a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h).
