Kia is working on bringing their 2011 GT Concept into production, with our spies spotting a camouflaged prototype being tested in Europe.

Codenamed CK, the new Kia is expected to use a shorter version of the Genesis G80 and G90 platform, but wear a much sexier four-door coupe body to rival models like the Audi A5 and A7 Sportback. Recent reports suggest that the final model will carry the Stinger moniker.

The sporty four-door coupe is designed by none other than Peter Schreyer who also penned the 2011 GT concept while it’s said that Albert Biermann, former BMW-M engineer and current development chief of Hyundai’s N performance division, is responsible for tuning the chassis.

Despite the heavy camouflage, we can make out some of the design details of the front end including a set of compact LED headlights while the rear will get a similar treatment with the GT concept.

The photos show us the prototype towing a big trailer which is common practice during development for accelerated stress-testing of the powertrain components. Kia plans their new four-door coupe to be available on a global scale with a range of petrol and diesel engines, including the recently revealed 3.3-litre twin turbo V6 engine, which in the case of the Genesis G80 Sport, makes 365hp.

As for when it’s going to be revealed, the company wants the new Stinger to enter production in 2017 with some rumors talking about a reveal as early as this October at the Paris Motor Show.
