In stock form, the C7 Corvette Z06 is insanely fast. It’s so fast in fact that it is quicker than the previous-gen ZR1 and capable of rivaling more powerful European exotics, thanks to its 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque V8. Despite that, the following owner yearned for even more speed.
Said to be the world’s quickest C7 Z06 down the quarter mile, the car has been modified within an inch of its life and now funnels a phenomenal 1100 hp to the ground.
All of that extra power has been achieved thanks to an upgraded supercharger and aftermarket cams. In conjunction with drag radical tires, this black beast recently sprinted down the quarter mile in just 9.3 seconds at 150.8 mph (242 km/h).
Helping to achieve such an impressive time is the sports car’s launch control system and this particular example’s quick-shifting automatic transmission. If fitted with the available manual ‘box, a time closer to the 10-second mark could be expected.
