The Aston Martin AM37 powerboat is celebrating its world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show, a few months after it was first previewed by a glamorous design concept.

The powerboat is the British brand’s first entrance into the nautical world and will be available in two guises, the most potent of which, dubbed the AM37S, is expected to be capable of a 50 knot (57 mph) top speed. Such speeds will be achieved courtesy of the twin 520 hp Mercury petrol engines.

The lesser AM37 version will then be available with either two 370 hp Mercury diesel or two 430 hp Mercury petrol engines, both of which will power the boat up to 45 knots (51 mph).

Dominating the AM37’s exterior design is its wraparound windscreen, created from a single piece of sculpted glass. Additionally, the powerboat incorporates sliding deck technology where the entire cockpit can be covered at the touch of a button. When in use, the three carbon fiber panels fold beneath the aft deck. Additionally, an eletro-hydraulic carbon fiber bimini top comes as standard to offer sun and weather protection when at sea.

Elsewhere, Aston Martin has outfitted the powerboat with a steering wheel, throttle handles and a joystick manufactured from polished metals. There’s also an advanced navigation and entertainment system while below deck, owners will enjoy a toilet, air conditioning, a large bed, coffee machine and a microwave oven.

Discussing the powerboat, Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman said “AM37 is a pure translation of the Aston Martin DNA into an entirely new maritime concept. The powerboat reflects our values in terms of power, beauty and soul. The most important attribute for Aston Martin is the design language and proportion, we have transferred this DNA into AM37. It was important to us when considering this project to make sure that the boat design was as beautiful and timeless as our cars, the AM37 is a striking boat with fantastic proportion and elegance.”
