Michael Schumacher’s lawyer has revealed that the seven-time Formula One world champion still can’t walk, almost three years after his near-fatal skiing accident.

Felix Damm made the comment during an ongoing court case in Germany where the Schumacher family is suing national magazine Bunte for claiming in December 2015 that Schumacher could walk with assistance and raise an arm.

Those assertions were vehemently denied by Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm late last year. Now the family is suing for invasion of privacy after a request was made to respect the privacy of Schumacher. Damages of between around $44,000 and $111,000 are being sought.

Other than confirming that Schumacher can’t walk, Damm refused to reveal the full extent of his condition.

The last official update on Schumacher’s health came in September 2014 when it was confirmed that he had returned home in Switzerland to continue rehabilitation.
