The all-new Hyundai i30 looks set to spawn a family of models, according to Autocar.

During the new car’s reveal in Germany, Hyundai design chief Peter Schreyer displayed a slide revealing three models set to be based around the latest i30.

While no specifics were given about what models were shown in the sketches, it is thought that the image in the middle depicts the hotter N version of the i30 which is reportedly going to be called RN30. Set to be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the model is expected to deliver in excess of 260 hp and will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard.

A host of styling tweaks will also distinguish it from the standard car, including a rear spoiler that is depicted in the sketch.

As for the other two cars displayed, the one on the left is believed to be that of a four-door coupe version of the i30. It isn’t known when this model will launch and nor is an expected reveal date of the car on the right, seemingly an estate variant of the i30.

Hyundai’s strategy is to become the best-selling Asian car maker in Europe and a wider i30-based range of models will play a crucial role into making it a reality, according to Jochen Sengpiehl, the company’s European marketing chief.
