As we eagerly await the arrival of the Hyundai i30N, it’s emerged that Korea has already been graced with a performance variant of the new hatch and apparently, it will help drivers drift and attract drop-dead gorgeous models.

In the vehicle’s home market, Hyundai has released a commercial that shows the i30 drifting in an undercover parking lot, Tokyo Drift style. In the passenger seat is one particularly beautiful and excited model blown away by the car’s performance.

Power for this i30 variant, which doesn’t appear to have a name, comes from a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 201 hp and 300 Nm of torque. That’s significantly more grunt than the 1.4-liter turbo model that has 138 hp and tops out the range in other markets.

Beyond its distinct engine, the 201 hp i30 has a set of 18-inch wheels, multi-link rear suspension and two large tailpipes.

It’s unclear if the marque has plans on offering this potent variant outside of Korea. If it does, don’t expect commercials like this to be approved.
