The Ferrari 599 GTO is only the third model in the company’s history to wear the holy GTO badge – and that’s despite the fact that it wasn’t a true homologation model.

The range-topping version of the 599 used the lessons learned by Ferrari’s track-only 599XX in order to create one of the most special driving experiences at that time.

Only 599 units of the GTO were ever made, with the particular one being one of the 125 cars built for the US market, making sure that the privilege of owning one will remain exclusive to a few lucky people.

Power comes from a revised version of the naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 that makes 670PS (661hp) and 619Nm (457lb-ft) of torque, along with one of the greatest sounds ever. Mated to a faster cog-swapping version of the six-speed paddle-shift F1 transmission, the 599 GTO can hit 60mph from rest in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 208mph (334km/h).

Finished in Bianco Avus with a special, non-standard Extra Campionaro stripe, this particular 599 GTO is also configured rather tastefully. The interior is dressed with a combo of Blu Scuro Alcantara, Ferrari’s 3D fabric with Bianco stitching and carbon fiber inserts. The car has covered just 2,739 miles since new and is heading to RM Auctions’ Santa Monica event on June 24, with an estimate between $650,000 and $750,000.
