Mercedes has released a sketch that previews the next-generation Sprinter van which is set to launch in the European market in the first half of 2018.

The new Mercedes Sprinter will adopt an unusually emotional design which includes a set of distinctive headlights and an aggressive front bumper.

The company promises that their new Sprinter will offer a comprehensive range of assistance systems and connectivity services which will be combined with new telematics as well.

“We want to offer the most suitable mobility solution for every sector and for every transport assignment,” said Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans. “And that is precisely our focus with the upcoming Sprinter generation as an overall system solution.”

So far, US-spec Sprinters were produced in Germany, with Mercedes partially dismantling the cars and reassembling them at the North Charleston plant, due to high import tariffs. The new US-spec Mercedes Sprinter will be solely produced at the company’s North Charleston plant, with the new business unit currently under construction and the car maker promising that demand from North American customers will be met with even cheaper prices since the vehicles are “made in the USA”. Mercedes will also produce the new Sprinter at its German production sites in Dusseldorf and Ludwigsfelde.
