Experts believe that up to one million vehicles in Texas may have been damaged by Hurricane Harvey and the ensuing floods.

Sky News reports that major U.S. car insurer State Farm has already received almost 20,000 claims from around Houston in the wake of the category 3 storm. Due to the extensive flooding, hundreds of thousands of vehicles are expected to be scrapped by salvage yards.

At least 44 lives have been lost because of the storm and the vehicular damage incurred is thought to be approximately double that of Hurricane Sandy.

Although the disaster has created resulted in some incredible acts of bravery and kindness, we recently reported that some of the worst of humanity was also displayed.

In fact, many stores throughout Texas have been gouging customers in desperate need for supplies. One convenience store in Houston was even selling gas for $20 a gallon.
