Audi’s redesigned Q3 crossover is currently being tested in prototype form, with this car making the rounds in Sweden on snow-covered roads.

Compared to another prototype we saw back in October of 2017, this particular one is ever so slightly less camouflaged, as the taillights are now almost entirely visible.

Aside from that, the sweeping shoulder line is also somewhat visible from underneath the tape, as is the prominent C-pillar. With size, previous reports put the upcoming Q3 at about 5.8 cm (2.3 in) longer than the current car.

Since it will be riding on the VW group’s modern MQB platform, the 2019 Q3 is expected to shed around 50 kg (110 lbs). Entry-level versions should continue to utilize front-wheel drive, with more expensive ones running Audi’s quattro system.

While its power units will likely mirror those seen in the VW Tiguan, electrified variants have also been going around the rumor mill, suggesting an estimated EV range of up to 300 km (186 miles) on a single charge.

The all-new Audi Q3 is expected to be unveiled either later this year or early in 2019. Future rivals will include the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Jaguar E-PACE and also the Volvo XC40.
