- The Skoda Octavia is getting a second facelift.
- Prototype sports new bumpers and a revised grille.
- Liftback and wagon could arrive in time for 2027.
The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia debuted in 2019 and was given a facelift five years later. Since then, the company has embraced a Modern Solid design language, which means the model now looks slightly out of place.
Skoda will address this with a second facelift, which appears to primarily focus on the front and rear ends. Spy photographers recently snapped a prototype and we can see it will adopt a revised grille that appears significantly shorter. This will bring it closer in line with the company’s so-called “Tech-Deck Face.”

The grille is flanked by familiar headlights, but they have a new daytime running light signature. We can also see a revamped bumper and a new lower intake with vertical bars. They’re joined by slender air curtains at the outside edges.
Changes to the rear end are harder to decipher, but we can expect new taillights and a lightly revised bumper. The latter appears to have a cleaner and less fussy lower design.

Spy photographers only got a few glimpses of the interior, but it looks like the Octavia will have a new dashboard and a small digital instrument cluster. The prototype also seems to eschew the large hood found on the current model.
Elsewhere, we can see a freestanding infotainment system. While it looks pretty familiar, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s running updated software.

Powertrain details remain a mystery, but we can likely expect a mix of familiar and updated engines. The current model offers an assortment of petrol choices including a 1.5-liter TSI four-cylinder with outputs of 114 hp (85 kW / 116 PS) and 162 lb-ft (220 Nm) as well as 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm). The Octavia RS uses a more powerful 2.0-liter TSI, which develops 262 hp (195 kW / 265 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque.
On the diesel side, there are 2.0-liter TDI engines producing 114 hp (85 kW / 116 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) as well as 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 265 lb-ft (360 Nm).
We can also expect hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants as Skoda chases efficiency and reduced emissions.
