Koenigsegg One:1 Gets Some Sun In Southern France

While the Bugatti Chiron might be the hottest name in hypercar circles nowadays, dismissing something as powerful as the Koenigsegg One:1 would be unwise.

This hypercar still merits consideration whenever somebody makes a list of the world’s fastest cars. That’s because it has one megawatt of power, which translates to 1,360 horses and 1,371 Nm (1,011 lb-ft) of torque.

These figures help the One:1 accelerate to 400 km/h (249 mph) in just 20 seconds, before maxing out at 450 km/h (280 mph). So while the Chiron might be faster flat out, the One:1 is quicker in acceleration.

One of the many reasons why this car manages to climb to such high speeds is the fact that it weighs very little – just 1,360 kg (2,998 lbs) with a half full tank of gas and all the fluids on-board. That’s as much as a VW Golf.

This particular tri-tone example was spotted by EPCSupercars in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, near Monaco, parked behind a hotel next to a Rolls-Royce Dawn and a Bentley Bentayga. That’s one way to keep good company.

  • Yawn

The Chiron is electronically limited to 261mph and therefore is nowhere near as fast as a 280mph One:1, and that’ll remain the case until VW either puts up or shuts up. Even then, the Agera RS is likely out of reach at 284mph and the Regera is rumoured to be even faster still.

Little Christian will continue to school the megacorps for some time to come.

280 mph – is this official? Still agree that Christian Koenigsegg is one of the (if not The) coolest car guy out there.

  • I wonder which chassis is this? Looks like the original Koenigsegg demo car though.
