Ram Trucks just unveiled a Canada exclusive 2019 Ram 1500 Sport model, boasting unique exterior design cues, custom options and an all-black cabin.

The new pickup truck was designed specifically for Canadian buyers, who seem to prefer the ‘Sport’ trim when it comes to the country’s most popular light-duty Ram pickup model.

“The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 is the strongest, most technological and most capable light-duty truck we have ever built. But we didn’t stop there,” said FCA Canada CEO Reid Bigland. “We sold over 100,000 Ram products in Canada last year and we pride ourselves on knowing our customers and listening to their needs. That’s why the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Sport is being built exclusively for the Canadian market and why we are confident our truck owners will embrace the unique style and capability it offers.”

Available in nine colors, two body configurations (Quad or Crew Cab) and either as a 4×2 or 4×4 model, the 2019 Ram 1500 Sport comes with black badging on its all-new aluminum tailgate, standard 20″ black wheels (22″ ‘Black Noise’ alloys optional), an all-black Ram’s head logo, a ‘Sport’ badge and an integrated dual exhaust.

Other features include standard bi-LED headlights with black internal bezels, blacked-out hood badging and side window surrounds and an optional Sport hood for customers who want their truck to look even more aggressive.

Inside, the all-black cabin features satin light black chrome highlights, real metal trim and a diamond plate-look on the center stack courtesy of the Ram Rebel. Meanwhile, the instrument panel and cluster brow are soft-wrapped and feature Diesel grey French accent stitching. Also unique to this model are the powered and heated sport cloth/premium vinyl seats with a special ‘hex’ insert mesh fabric, while the power adjustable pedals, CD player, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, ParkView back-up camera, push-button start and heated steering wheel are all standard.

On the safety front, there’s brake assist, hill start assist, rainy day braking, ready alert braking and trailer sway control as standard, while blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, surround view camera, automatic high beams and Park Assist are optional extras. Moreover, Crew Cab models get a dual-pane sunroof, a reclining rear seat and 12.7 cm (5-inch) larger in-floor bins for a 4-inch drop hitch.

There’s just one engine option, a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of torque. It works together with an eight-speed automatic transmission that includes more than 40 individual shift maps for improved fuel economy.

The Canada-only 2019 Ram 1500 Sport will go on sale in the second quarter of 2018.
