Unlike the Veyron, the Bugatti Chiron has yet to quench our thirst for speed, as we’re itching to see just how fast it is compared to some of the world’s most powerful hypercars.

On paper, its credentials are extremely impressive. Its 8.0-liter W16 engine produces 1,500 PS (1,479 HP) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque, which translates to a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of less than 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 420 km/h (260 mph).

The only downside is that it weighs roughly two tonnes (4,400 lbs), whereas the Koenigsegg One:1 tips the scales at just 1,360 kg (3,000 lbs).

The One:1 also packs quite a punch, thanks to its 1,360 horses and 1,371 Nm (1,011 lb-ft) of torque, so its power-to-weight ratio is superior to that of the Chiron. Other striking facts about the Koenigsegg is that it can hit 400 km/h (248 mph) in just 20 seconds, and then brake to 0 km/h in just 10 seconds.

So which of the two would win in a standing mile-long drag race? According to Forza Motorsport 7, that would be the Koenigsegg, by about a second – which in hypercar terms is quite a lot, especially when you factor in the Chiron’s excellent traction off the line thanks to its all-wheel drive.

Granted, video games might be getting better and better but they don’t always get things right. Until someone pits those two hypercars against each other, though, we’ll have to make do with Forza’s virtual outcome…
