Mazda Driver Knocks Down Rider After Road Rage Episode In Florida

You know that moment when you’re arguing with somebody in traffic and things take a direct turn for the “deadly”? It’s better if you don’t, because some people really do tend to throw caution out the window when arguments get heated.

There are two ways you can look at this incident since, you know, there are two sides to every story. On one hand, the driver of the car deserves to answer for putting another human being’s life in danger, regardless of what triggered him to do so.

Then again, the rider is also responsible for his actions, and swinging at the car’s mirror was completely uncalled for. But of course, there’s no comparison to be made between property damage and what is basically an attack with a deadly weapon.

The scene unfolded in Sarasota, Florida, and the folks behind the recording had this to say:

“My fiancee and I were on our way down to a restaurant when I saw a man driving a beautiful motorbike. The person driving the car tried to change lanes to the left at the same time. I think he did not see the motorcycle, so he still changed lanes. The motorcyclist tried to talk to the person in the car, but the two started fighting on the way until the driver decided to crash the car into the motorcyclist. We stopped the vehicle to ensure that the motorcyclist was okay after what happened. The emergency vehicles responded quickly.”

What’s being described here must have happened before the video was taken, because all we get is a couple of angry hand gestures from the rider, followed by the incident that occurs around the 1:10m mark.

  • Moveon Libtards

Dumb biker was riding his tail, taunting the Mazda driver and hitting his car…KARMA!

    • Moveon Libtards

Hear the biker at the end of video crying like a b—-…Says it all.

  • Pavo

A downward spiraling conversation…there is NO excuse for what the driver of the car did, no matter what. However, the motorcyclist put himself in a dangerous position by his actions. Even if the car driver was 100% at fault before the video starts, I would have just let it go. No good is going to come from becoming so angry. That being said, I hope the driver of the car is prosecuted.

    • TheToadPrince..~~ToadSquad

its true..the biker hit his car which caused the roadrage..both sides are idiots

    • Iberian Recluse

      This look staged.

      • brn

I question it as well. It doesn’t pass the sniff test.

    • robotlogic

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

    • Craig

“…there is NO excuse.” BS I can think of many reasons why someone might want someone dead. [Regardless or whether or not they are riding a motorcycle]

    • Emoto

As a motorcyclist for 40+ years, I can say with some certainty that it is a VERY BAD IDEA to engage with a car in an aggressive manner. The motorcycle will lose every time. Not worth it.

  • Tydogg123 .

When keeping it real goes wrong…

  • annon

    WTF!!! hope they caught him?

    • Dr Strangefingger

I wonder if the driver will use a “threatened / self defense” approach to his/her upcoming court appearance? I’ve seen some ridiculous outcomes to similar situations.

  • Jason Miller

Driver of the car should have his license taken away for good.

    • Jay

They should be thrown in jail. This is attempted murder.

    • smartacus

the hispanic driver was caught and did not have a license at all

      • LWOAP

        Really?

        • smartacus

          yep, they caught him
          and; as expected,
          did not have a
          license to lose

      • Galvanics

Something tells me if the driver was white, you wouldn’t have mentioned it…

        • smartacus

          Something tells me,
          you are racist against
          motorcyclists.

  • Harry_Wild

Motorcyclist should never have a running argument with somebody in a car! Of course a gang of motorcyclists, then it the reverse.

    • brn

      Don’t poke the bear?

  • Six_Tymes

    attempted murder charges I hope

  • thunder bolt

It’s funny how the folks recording the video said: “The motorcyclist tried to talk to the person in the car…” yeah sure pal, swinging at a moving vehicle ain’t trying.

  • LWOAP

    Oh look, it’s Florida again.

  • BlackPegasus

The motorcyclist asked for it….. instant karma was served.

  • Paul

Some people get so enraged they cant let it go but in this case being on a motorbike is automatically at a disadvantage if real road rage erupts. So biker guy, was it really worth it? Still though, no excuse for what the car driver did.

  • GobbleUp

Both wrong, car driver will get the worst of it legally. But biker is a moron.

Here’s hoping both lose licenses for a long time.

  • ctk4949

How convenient someone was recording video on their phone at that exact moment. It wasn’t even a dash cam. Then they let the guy in their car?? Looks fishy!!

  • mkole1964

Had a motorcyclist pass me at almost double my speed on a three lane road last week. He passed within a foot of my sideview mirror. If I had drifted even a foot to my left he would have been toast. I was going the speed limit. A blue Mustang was following or racing the motorcyclist – couldn’t tell.

  • smartacus

    OLD NEWS:
    the hispanic driver
    was already caught
    and NO, he didn’t
    have a License

    • Liam Paul

well did the driver go to jail or was he brought on attempted murder, did the motorcyclist get in trouble for slinging his hands at the car starting it all.

      • smartacus

After viewing the video again; i’ve concluded that
the motorcyclist appears not to have walked away, no

        * but thanks for letting us know that if someone
dared sling their hands at your car
        that you would justify your
        attempted vehicular homicide.

  • Liam Paul

the rider started it all and the driver lost control. Just because the rider is a fool does not give the driver a right to become a deadly fool but I will say the rider started it all.. Both should be charged with reckless driving and both should not be allow to drive or ride on public roads. Road rage never leads to nothing good

  • Six_Tymes

    blah blah blah…

  • Six_Tymes

    hmmm

  • MarketAndChurch

I don’t know what happened, but I somehow feel they’re both to blame for what transpired.

  • FunctionForm

I’m tired of motorcyclists thinking they can go around banging on peoples cars and breaking their mirrors. Absolutely tired of it.

  • TheHake

Did he deserve to be killed? He could EASILY have been killed by that car. He was an ass I agree, but doing that with the car is attempted murder.

    • smartacus

did ya hear about another hit-and-run
on a motorcyclist? i posted the dailymail
article in a comment i left down below.

      • TheHake

At least that &*%^$ was caught.

  • Wandering_Spirit

If you stalk me and hit my car there is enough room to think you may want to attack me, too….in that case you get those reactions. That said, there is a very narrow number of normal countries where you see these behaviors. There is a broader problem.
