We’ve seen the Model S P100D take on some very fast machines, but can it beat Lamborghini’s Huracan Performante a run for its money?

The electric sedan has 588 HP and 920 lb-ft (1,247 Nm) of torque from its dual electric motors, which are channeled to the all-wheel drive system.

Thus, it hits 60mph (96km/h) in a mere 2.28 seconds, while Tesla describes it as “the safest, quickest car on the road with industry-leading performance, range and storage”. It also has a range of up to 337mi (542km), and costs approximately $150,000.

At the other end, the Huracan Performante is twice as expensive and used to hold the Nurburgring lap record, until it had it socks blown off by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 delivers 631hp and 443lb-ft (600Nm) via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels.

Helped by its massive electric power and instant torque, the flagship Tesla Model S is obviously quicker off the line than the Italian supercar. However, once those tamed ponies start running, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante is a force to be reckoned with.

However, to find out whether the Raging Bull manages to catch up or even beat the startlingly fast Tesla, you’ll need to check out the video right below.
