Old luxury cars will be always appealing, but if there’s one to rule them all, the Mercedes 600 Grosser will be right at the top of the list.

This 1972 600 Grosser is one of the 2,190 short-wheelbase versions built between 1963 and 1981 and is currently offered in an auction at Bring A Trailer.

Under its long bonnet lives a 6.3-liter V8 with 250 HP paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. The car shows 68,521 miles on the odometer and is described as a largely original driver.

The interior is finished with blue leather and matching velour carpets and features walnut trim on the dash and door panels. It comes with air-conditioning, a sunroof and a console-mounted refrigerator, among others.

The Mercedes 600 was built with no regard to costs. It features a very complex vacuum system that operates nearly everything on the car, including the power windows. The seller claims that the self-leveling suspension operates as it should, which is a good thing as fixing it would cost a small fortune.

The bodywork appears to be in great shape, with all the chrome present and shiny while the paint looks just perfect, which is to be expected as the car had a repaint in its original Grey Blue Metallic.

Overall, this Mercedes 600 SWB Grosser looks like a million bucks and has the presence of a true superstar on the road. Is it too much to say that no Rolls Royce or Bentley can be compared with this masterpiece?
