Does Ipanema Brown Help Audi Exclusive A5 Sportback Look More Stylish?

If you’re not sold on owning an executive sports sedan like the Audi A4, or any one of its four-door rivals, but you also don’t want anything considerably larger, your choices are actually fairly limited.

There’s the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe and this, the Audi A5 Sportback. Sure, you can argue in favor of something like the VW Arteon or the Kia Stinger, but let’s just keep things premium for the sake of this argument.

The A5 Sportback is of course the 5-door version of the A5 Coupe, which entered its second generation back in 2016. It’s still a reasonably new car, having sold about as many units last year as the BMW 4-Series, as per Carsalesbase.

Since its launch, we’ve seen lots of different configurations, on different versions. We know the A5 Sportback can look sporty as well as stylish, or perhaps a healthy mixture of both, assuming you’re of the same mindset. But if you’d rather it look more elegant, we would suggest considering an Ipanema Brown Metallic exterior, courtesy of Audi Exclusive.

Color us impressed

Studies used to show that people who buy brown or beige cars, valued reliability above all else. Nowadays though, there are all these fancy shades of metallic brown (bronze if you will) that sparkle and give off a feeling of warmth.

Is Ipanema Brown Metallic successful in doing that on this A5 Sportback? You tell us.

  • Alter Ego

Nice. But is this not an S5 Sportback? It has S badging.

    • Dustin

You can get an S-line package on any Audi. Note this doesn’t have the S5’s wheels or red calipers, among other things.

      • Alter Ego

        Ah. TIL

  • Status

Has brown ever looked good on a car?

  • atomicbri

This gives the car a very “70’s” feel to it.

  • Nordschleife

It looks surprisingly nice but not great or more attractive.

  • smartacus

this Ipandema color is not brilliant

  • Mynameis Taylor

it’s a good looking car, so doesn’t really matter the color. That being said, I don’t care for the color.

  • TheBelltower

This helps a lot. Most of these that I’ve seen look very municipal and ordinary.

  • Honda NSX-R

    Yes it does

  • MarketAndChurch

The color would work better on an R8 but I absolutely love the name.

  • botornot387

Personally, I wouldn’t want a brown or bronze looking car and I think the color actually looks better on SUV’s but I was in Germany last year and saw this on the RS7 and it is actually a pretty stunning color in person. Pictures really don’t do it justice. I wish more colors were available in the US, and that more people would consider them. We are so boring here. In Germany there were so many vivid colors people had on all their models.

  • SamBamm

It is only an improvement because all the other Audi color options are so painfully bland.

    • Daniela Wolf

Because Americans order almost nothing else than white, black and grey.
      Recently i rode that white and black alone got a market share of more than 60%;
Here in germany these colours can’t reach the 25% mark.^^

  • Six Thousand Times

Not bad but not a good as their green.

  • john1168

I wouldn’t get this color but it’s nice. I do like the wheels however.

  • Infinite1

Looks good, can’t wait to see it in S or RS guise

  • Max Rogel

I…P…ANEMA… in brown???? Is this seriously a good idea????

  • shamrock

    Looks kinda burnt-orange. Me likes!

  • Selldivision

Ipanema Brown? So “Metallic Monkey Cancer Cough Orange” was taken?

  • SteersUright

Not digging this brown, a bit too light of a shade. Not quite copper and too close to poo-poo.

  • Harry_Wild

No! Red or forest green is still better color.

  • Kyle Newberry

Anyone else see copper instead of brown?

  • Bash

    Yeah, It does.

  • DJ

I like it, it’s a nice change from the grays silvers and black. Brown tones always look rich and classy. Modern cars have become so dull and generic the all seem to blend in. Ik it’s just me, but a luxury car should entice like a decadent desert lol

  • fabri99

Bronze is quickly becoming one of my favourite colours for cars, especially if we’re talking about luxury sedans and coupes.
