A police chase in Layton, Utah ended badly when the suspects lost control of their car, smashing into a semi, which in turn caused the third trailer to collapse onto its side.

The car can be seen sliding out of control between the dashcam vehicle and the semi truck, making contact with the latter and causing a massive accident that ended up blocking traffic for several hours, as per the video description.

“Tried to pass traffic on the right. Lost control. Came back into the lanes of travel and hit a semi that had three trailers,” said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Todd Royce, who told KSL that all four occupants of the car had warrants out for their arrests.

One of the suspects was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, while the driver of the semi was unharmed.

The chase started in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, May 15th (last week), after a Syracuse police officer responded to a suspicious vehicle alert in a Walmart parking lot.

“I ran the vehicle’s license plate and noticed multiple arrest warrants were attached to the vehicle,” stated the officer, who initiated the chase only to end his pursuit due to public safety issues.

He later learned that the car he was trying to chase down was involved in the previously mentioned crash on I-15, south of the Layton Parkway on-ramp.
