It’s incidents such as this one that should serve as deterrents to those who continue to weave through traffic, ignore speed limits and put other drivers at risk.

Think you’re getting off with just a warning for driving like you own the road? Think again, is what British authorities say, as a Mercedes driver was sentenced to 11 months in jail following this scary 125 mph (201 km/h) crash on the M4 carriageway.

The footage was captured via dashcam, and the driver of the white Mercedes C-Class Coupe was identified as 36-year old Peter Goodfellow, who failed to live up to his name. His car is said to have had two bald tires, although we’re not sure how that might have contributed to the accident, because as far as we can tell, the man just veered off to his left out of the blue.

Unfortunately, his actions sent a fellow motorist and her MINI spinning across three lanes and into the guardrail. Thus, the Swindon Crown Court sentenced Goodfellow to 11 months behind bars, to go with a 29-month driving ban and a victim surcharge of £140, as reported by the Daily Mail.

As for the driver of the MINI, she is said to have suffered minor injuries.

“He is a dangerous driver who had no regard for other road users. This was a busy time of day on a busy stretch of the M4,” stated PC Will Ayres of the Wiltshire Police.

“Goodfellow put other road users lives at risk, not just by driving at excess speed, but also undertaking vehicles which led to a collision and left an innocent driver with injuries.”
