Two of the biggest names in the automotive world met up recently with one of the most popular auto vloggers on the Internet, who arrived driving the amazing Apollo IE.
While Richard Hammond and James May need no introduction, some of you might not be all too familiar with Alex Hirschi, also known as Supercar Blondie, a social media celebrity who was recently listed as one of the 50 most influential women in the Arab world.
The 32-year old Internet celebrity made quite the entrance thanks to her choice of car (or should we say supercar). Not only was she wearing full racing gear, but after a few pleasantries, she gave the boys a tour of the car and even asked them questions about it, to see how familiar the two Grand Tour hosts were with Apollo’s latest creation.
The IE, which stands for Intensa Emozione, features a 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, producing 780 PS (769 HP) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque. It also has a sequential 6-speed gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a curb weight of just 1,250 kg (2,756 lbs) and very advanced aerodynamic properties.
In a straight line, Apollo claims the IE will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.7 seconds, before maxing out at 335 km/h (208 mph). Only 10 units of this car are being produced, with each one costing more than $2.7 million (€2.3 million).
The video concludes with Hammond getting a chance to get behind the wheel and drive the IE, albeit only for a few yards.
