Wald International’s Maserati Ghibli Is A Black Bison With Stealthy Looks

Wald International’s creations might not be as extreme as Liberty Walk’s, but they’re not discrete either – at least most of them.

So, that’s why when we stumbled upon their latest project, a tuned Maserati Ghibli, it caught our attention.

The list of upgrades is limited to the exterior of the Italian sports saloon, and the most eye-catching is the matte black paint finish. Moreover, this Ghibli also features a reworked front bumper with integrated LED DRLs and new side skirts.

At the rear, Wald International has fitted a special diffuser that gets an integrated LED brake light, which also incorporates the quad exhaust pipes. Take a closer look at the rear end of the car and you’ll notice yet another upgrade, in the form of a small spoiler mounted on the boot lid. All of these parts are offered in FRP as standard, and fit all pre-facelifted versions of the executive saloon.

For the Maserati Ghibli, the Japanese tuner will gladly throw in an aftermarket wheel set, too. Offered in two different patterns, called B11-C and I11-C, respectively, they measure 9×22 inches up front and 10.5×22 at the rear, and fit the wheel arches perfectly thanks to a set of lowering springs that’s part of the package.

Before calling it a day, the tuner added their logo on the left side of the boot lid, whereas the signature ‘Black Bison’ badge sits on the right side.

I would have thought it would be easier to design a complete replacement bumper instead of tacked on pieces that look like tack on pieces.

So you like kitsch and badly engineered things?
None of the addon pieces has lines that fit with the design of the car, and that would be fine if they would improve them, but they just stand out in a bad way. A double chin in the front, sides that don’t fit with the character or shoulder lines, and a rear that is from a different universe, extending the bumper sides in places that don’t match with the side skirts. And on top of everything it’s just tacked on like an afterthought. No wonder you like the black version as it hides all those horrible details.

Not to mention how those LED lights in the front – while they do look kinda cool, I give that to them – cover half of the intercooler vents.

Well, I see you.. but I still love it, Deal with it. 😉
