Fire Consumes Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Bystanders Seem Amused

A black Lamborghini Huracan Performante was consumed by flames on Friday evening in Boston, Massachusetts.

The supercar caught fire at the intersection of Boylston and Dartmouth streets, in the vicinity of the Boston Public Library. At around 5:50 p.m., firefighters responded to a 911 call and extinguished the fire, reporting no injuries.

Unfortunately, one can’t say the same thing about the Italian supercar, as the damage caused by the blaze looks irreparable.

As if the flames hadn’t done enough harm, the firefighters had to cut parts of the bodywork as they tried to locate the source of the fire and eliminate the possibility of it starting again.

According to the Boston Fire Department cited by, the cause of the fire is unknown. One thing is certain: its source was in the Huracan Performante‘s engine compartment. As the photos and videos show, that was the area that got engulfed in flames.

Around the same time as the fire started devouring the Lambo, passersby began posting photos and videos of the blaze on social media. Interestingly, most didn’t seem to care much about the Lambo and made humorous comments.

Similarly, others were amused at the situation, but the most bizarre behavior came from a cyclist. Ignoring the risk of an explosion, he positioned his bicycle very close to the burning Lambo to take a photo. Fortunately, a firefighter quickly removed him from the area.

( for the people laughing in the video…) The emotion of pleasure-in-others’-misfortune (Schadenfreude in German) is generally regarded as morally evil. It is often considered to be less acceptable than envy, which is regarded as a deadly sin. It would appear to be morally more perverse to be pleased with another person’s misfortune than to be displeased with another person’s good fortune……….

Boston they say? filled with miserable, smug Marxists and Socialists who take great pleasure in witnessing the demise of an object that was the result of hard work and success. No surprise to me.

You ARE 100% RIGHT. Massachu-shit is one of the worst places in this country.

And this is why I don’t use social media. Nothing but cancer.

    • ace_9

Social media only highlights how people really are. So many narcissists and other mentally abnormal people are even praised for their personality… It’s golden age for “cancer” people.

the firefighters did a fantastic job of reducing the flames so quickly before much toxic fumes happened. shame about the car, and kind of weird that so many people have nothing better to do except spend so much time standing and starring.

It just sums up how people are in general. Everyone cares mostly about him/herself. But there is also a big gap between common people and the ones buying lamborghinis. Usually people assume that if you can afford such a car, you can also afford having it destroyed. Which is also usually the truth. I guess the car was insured. However, I’m not saying this to excuse their behavior. I think people are stupid sheep.

    • LeStori

Does not make it any less amusing when a Lambo goes up in smoke. These types of cars are bought by the pretentious. Those out to flaunt their wealth or stupidity or both.

      • ace_9

I would buy a lambo if I would be really rich and it would not be for the reasons you mentioned. I simply always liked lamborghinis. Not all expensive things are about flaunting the wealth…

  • Dr Bjorn K. Von Strangefingger

Hmmm… they sure that isn’t a Tesla under those flames?

  • дапвт

Heard it downshifting and stopping behind me 2 minutes before it happened. The guy usually drives around with another red Perfomante behind it.
