It appears that every tuning company out there wants a piece of the Suzuki Jimny action nowadays.

Interestingly, most project proposals we’ve seen so far consist of makeovers aimed at making the Jimny resemble the much more expensive Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender. As it turns out, the Chelsea Truck Company is jumping on the bandwagon as well. The UK-based tuner has revealed plans to turn the diminutive off-roader into a mini G-Class or Defender courtesy of some cosmetic tweaks.

Company founder Afzal Kahn posted the first sketch of a possible Chelsea Truck Company Jimny on his Instagram page with the caption: “The G Wagon inspired friendly vehicle for a 6th of the price!” The company also posted a rendering of a Defender-inspired tune for the Jimny on its website.

Owing to the enthusiastic response on social media, the company formerly known as Project Kahn will offer both tuning kits for the new Suzuki Jimny.

Highlights will include a wide-body styling package with wide wheel arches, vented bumpers and bonnet, a vented grille, LED headlights, 19-inch G6 wheels as well as a performance quad exhaust system. All these upgrades will spruce up the Jimny and make it look “more premium and noticeable than the standard model.”

The interior treatment will consist of quilted and perforated leather upholstery, leather-wrapped center glove box and armrests, branded sill plates, and vented foot pedals. The price of a luxed-up Suzuki Jimny of Land Rover or Mercedes-Benz flavor will begin at £24,995 (around $32,000). The release date will be announced after the tuning packages are finalized.
